As You Like It - "A triumph"

Theatre in Priory Park

This summer the Crouch End Players realised a long-held dream - to create outdoor theatre in the heart of our neighbourhood, and to produce our first ever Shakespeare play.

Our performances were sold out, and we even managed to keep dry!

We are still glowing from the excitement, adrenaline, anxiety, exhaustion and utter joy of having done it. It was a magical experience for us all.

The Stage
Taking our final bow

We are  now all missing the temporary home we created on the bowling green in Priory Park, where many of us spent nights camping out, protecting the set from Hurricane Bertha!

We are eternally grateful to all those who helped in so many ways, without whom we could not have staged this production.

Our sincere gratitude  goes  to everyone who supported us - who got the ball rolling by pledging to our Crowd-funder campaign, to those who helped us publicise the event, volunteered on site, sold tickets, bought tickets and generally helped us to make it happen.
We appreciate it.

Thanks also to the Ham and High for such a glowing review  read review

So, despite the weather, we end the summer on a high note, looking forward to planning our next productions!

The Crouch End Players present
"As You Like It"
by William Shakespeare
13th-16th August 2014
Priory Park, Crouch End N8
Buy Tickets
Our next show will be a production of Shakespeare's  As You Like It,  performed in the open air in Priory Park in the heart of Crouch End from the 13th-16th August 2014.

Come and join us in Priory Park for a summer evening of laughter, love and light refreshments in our temporary Open Air Theatre on the old bowling green (the seats are covered).

Shakespeare's fabulous romantic comedy has it all: Dukes and shepherds, fools and goats, musicians and even some morris dancing, as (almost) everyone falls in love in the magical Forest of Arden.

Directed by Kate Stafford.
Original music by Steven Edis

Tickets are available from online booking service Wegottickets (click here) and in cash at "Of Special Interest", Park Road, N8.

We are mounting this production largely thanks to the generosity of all those who have pledged to our current Crowdfunder appeal, so thank you so much to everyone who has funded us so far and enabled us to reach our minimum target. You have helped to make our dream of putting on As You Like It in the open-air a reality.

So we have the basics - set, toilets, permits - we now need help to make this the best darn show Crouch End has ever seen!

If you feel you could assist us by pledging even £5, we would be for ever grateful and you would receive a virtual hug from us all!
Visit www.crowdfunder.co.uk/asyoulikeit for details.

Crowdfunder for Open Air Shakespeare

Crowdfunder Appeal for As You Like It in Priory Park!
The Crouch End Players is an amateur drama group creating high-quality theatre in North London.

Our next show will be a production of Shakespeare's As You Like It, which will be performed in the open air in Priory Park in the heart of Crouch End from the 13th-16th August 2014.

This is an ambitious project, as we need to build our own performance space, not to mention provide the seats, lighting, toilets and a generator to power it all.

We are seeking to raise in excess of £2,000 by crowdfunding to cover these extra costs. We would be really grateful if you would consider supporting this exciting project by following the link below and pledging your support:

Pledging your support is not without rewards. A pledge of £20 will get you a ticket for the show on a day of your choice, a free drink on the night, as well as the warm glow of having played a key part in making it all happen.

Thank you so much for your support and we look forward to seeing you at As You Like It in August!
